Diabetes Test Strips FAQs
How do I check my blood glucose?
To check your blood glucose levels, you’ll need a blood glucose meter and test strips. First, wash your hands with soap and water and dry thoroughly. Insert a test strip into the meter, prick your finger with a lancet to draw a small drop of blood, and touch the strip to the blood. The meter will display your glucose level within seconds.
How to use blood glucose test strips?
Using blood glucose test strips is simple. Begin by inserting the strip into your glucose meter. Next, prick your fingertip with a lancet to obtain a small drop of blood. Touch the blood drop to the designated area on the strip, and within seconds, your meter will display your blood glucose level.
What are blood glucose test strips?
Blood glucose test strips are small, disposable strips used to measure blood glucose levels. They contain chemicals that react with glucose in the blood, producing a measurable signal that is read by a glucose meter. These strips are a vital component of blood glucose monitoring for individuals with diabetes.
Blood Glucose Test Strip Instructions:
- Prepare the Meter: Insert a test strip into the slot on the meter, ensuring it’s face-up. The meter will power on automatically.
- Obtain Blood Sample: Use the lancet and lancing device to prick your fingertip gently. You only need a small drop of blood, approximately 0.5uL.
- Apply Blood to Strip: Touch the edge of the test strip with the blood drop until the yellow window on the strip is filled. The blood will be drawn into the strip automatically.
- View Results: Wait for just 5 seconds, and the meter will display your blood glucose level. Record the result as needed for your healthcare records.
