I'm here now and the last 3days I've been onthe computer and the people are soloud Icannot study for mynurse practitioner. Iknow everybody business, tax numbers andID. Itis totally ridiculous. IFu cannot study and have quiet atthe library where can onego.

We’re sorry tohear that you had abad experience. Unfortunately, wherever people gather, there islikely tobe noise. Ifyou were here during achildren’s program, those periods are generally louder. When the sound isexcessive though, please let astaff member know and wecan ask the person toquieten down. Sadly, wedo not have abuilding with space for individual study rooms. The closer to12noon you can bring the booksin, the more likely the Friends will beable toget some ofthe books priced and onthe shelf before they reopen the Book Sale Room at2pm. The library issuppose tobe aplace you goto for help. Toprint ofsomething from aphone toa paper print out should not bea difficult thing. But noone knew how todo itbut one girl. And the girl who actually knew how todoit, Iwas lied toand told she wasent working, untill Isaw her come upfrom the top ofthe library. Everyone looked like adeer inheadlights. She then came down and helped meand all iswell.But, tothe community, beware. The women who are suppose tobe schooled andtaught how todo something aseasy asprint off something, either does not wanttoo, orenjoyed the sweat they see dropping off your brow. I love that Ican suggest new books tobe added tothe collection, and always receive atimely response. The Collection Development Manager messaged mepersonally when Isuggested anew book that had already been ordered inlarge print toinquire ifthat would besuitable. The ability torenew books online isgreat, especially when I'm almost finished with abook, but don't have time tomake itduring business hours torenew. Love the Decatur Public Library!

Love this library! Ofcourse, tons ofbooks & there isalways acomputer available touse. Staff isvery friendly aswell. You can pay tohave prints done,too. Usually nice and quiet, but now and then there's atutoring session orsomeone brings their toddlerin… Ilike togo inbefore noon.
